Two day Three Night Landscape Plein Air Workshop and Walking Retreat
Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embark on a journey of self-discovery and artistic expression on this three night two day Retreat with Helené – a walking and plein air painting break nestled between the Mediterranean and the Contraviesa Mountains between the Almond trees and Grape vines.
Helené will give you personalized guidance while you work relevant to your skill level. She is knowledgeable in Watercolour, Acrylic and oil. This retreat will help you hone your skills and unlock new dimensions of creativity in your artwork. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, this retreat caters to all levels of expertise.
Schedule
Arrive Friday afternoon and settle in.
Dinner at 7pm to meet each other
Saturday.
Help yourself to coffee, tea and a croissant.
7h15 am- there will be an early morning guided walk to capture the golden hour with your camera. (non-compulsory).
8h30 am- Continental breakfast will be served in the dining room.
9h30 am- Demonstration given by Helené and tips on how to look for a landscape in nature.
10h30 am- Using the set of exercises given go out into the campo and paint or draw plein air. (Depending on your skill level this may be sketches or a complete painting.)
1pm- Lunch will be serve in the dining room.
After lunch you are welcome to carry on working in nature or if you prefer use the mornings work to paint in the art rooms.
5 pm there will be a feedback session on the day’s work. This is voluntary and you can ask Helené for private feedback on your work if you do not want your work discussed by the group.
7 pm Dinner in the dining room.
After diner you can relax around the house or on the terraces or walk through the village and enjoy some of the local wine in the village bar.
Sunday:
Help yourself to coffee, tea and a croissant.

9h30 am- Demonstration given by Helené on painting a village scene.
10h30 am- Walk into the village and paint a village scene.
1pm-Lunch will be serve in the dining room.
After lunch you are welcome to carry on working on your village scene in the village or to complete your painting in the art rooms.
5pm- there will be a feedback session on the work.
7pm- Dinner at the Vegetarian restaurant in Polopos. (They do have salmon and other fish on the menu. Meat can be arranged for the meat lovers.) After diner put out your artworks at the restaurant to display them.
Monday:
8h30 am- Breakfast before you depart – Extra Days can be added on a self-catering basis.
Food
Continental Breakfast example- Selection of cold meats, cheese, breads, pastries, cereals, yogurt, jams and seasonal fruits
Lunch example – Starter – Gazpacho or salad or Jamon – Main course – Tortilla, Savoury tart or Chicken Mushroom pie, Coleslaw, Beetroot salad – Desert – Flan or Vieannetta Ice cream with Whisky.
Dinner Friday and Saturday night example- Starter – Salmon or Prawns or baked Camembert Cheese with fig jam – Main – Lamb Moussaka or Vegetarian Lasagna, Baked Vegetables – desert – Fruit Salad with ice cream.
Sunday night -Vegetarian Restaurant Sunday night. (Drinks at the restaurant are extra after the first drink.)
Not included in the price:
Travel to and from Sorvilán
Bring your preferred art materials and colours. (Demos will be in Oil for the Landscape and Acrylic for the Village Scene. If requested a Watercolour demo can be added.) I can supply art materials if you require for an extra cost if it is ordered when you book. A list will be sent out of suggested materials.
Bring any special drinks you prefer. (Local wine, some beer, tea, coffee and soft drinks are included in the price within reason.) One drink included at the restaurant.
The water is Sorvilán is perfectly good to drink and I don’t like to buy water in plastic but you are welcome to bring bottled water with you. Iced tap water will be on offer throughout the day.
Insurance as Casa Arte and the Staff cannot be held responsible for damage to you or your belonging, however we will endeavour to avoid these problems.
